Vivo X90S Spotted on Google Play Console with Latest MediaTek Processor

The Chinese brand Vivo is already said to be working on a successor to its recently launched X90 – the Vivo X90S. This device has appeared on the Google Play Console, revealing some key specifications. Although no official announcement has been made by Vivo, the processor on the X90S indicates that this smartphone may just be an updated version of the existing Vivo X90.

Specs revealed by Google Play Console listing

The recently spotted smartphone on the Google Play Console has been listed as the model V2241A. As per the listing, the Vivo X90S will be powered by the MediaTek MT6985 processor, which may indicate the availability of the Dimensity 9200 SoC on the upcoming smartphone. Further, it is also revealed that the phone will have 12GB of RAM and an FHD+ display, running on Android 13 OS.

Phone design

The phone’s design was also revealed on the Google Play Console. The smartphone appears quite similar to the existing Vivo X90, sporting the same curved edge display and the hole-punch camera on the top. It is also speculated that this new device may ship with Vivo’s OriginOS.

Speculations about the new processor

About the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC, it is speculated that it may be a slightly tweaked version of the current processor with higher clock speeds. According to another leak by a tipster on the Chinese micro-blogging website ‘Weibo,’ the processor could be the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC. This new processor by MediaTek is expected to launch on May 10, and it will be interesting to see where this new smartphone fits in, since the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC is expected to be superior to the current SoC available on the Vivo X90 series launched in India.

The Vivo X90 and X90 Pro

Vivo recently released its new X90 and X90 Pro handsets in India, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC processors. The X90 series devices have slightly different designs and cameras, with the X90 priced at Rs. 59,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, and the X90 Pro at Rs. 84,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option. For unknown reasons, Vivo left out its top-of-the-line X90 Pro+ model during the launch in India. This device is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and has a superior camera setup, which is in line with last year’s Vivo X80 Pro.

In conclusion

Although no official announcement has yet been made by Vivo about the upcoming Vivo X90S, it is expected to be a significant upgrade from the current X90 model. With the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC, 12GB of RAM, and an FHD+ display, this phone is expected to give stiff competition to other smartphones launched in the same category.
