The Vivo X90 series is about to get a new addition with rumours of an imminent launch of the Vivo X90S circulating online. The latest reports suggest that the smartphone has been listed on the Chinese certification website, TENAA, revealing key specifications and design details.
Design and Features
The images obtained from the TENAA certification website show the Vivo X90S with a circular rear camera module, similar to the other models already available in India and other markets. The phone features a triple rear camera setup housed inside the camera module, and the LED flash and Zeiss branding located at the top right corner. The front of the phone boasts a curved display with a centre-aligned hole-punch cutout on top. The phone has its power and volume buttons located on the right side.
Key Specifications
The Vivo X90S is expected to be released with several high-end features, according to the TENAA listing. It is likely to have a curved AMOLED display of 6.78-inches with a 1.5K resolution of 2,800 x 1,280 pixels. The phone will be powered by an octa-core SoC, with a maximum clock speed of 3.2GHz. Reports suggest that this processor could be the upcoming Dimensity 9200+ SoC that MediaTek plans to reveal on May 10.
Users will have two options for RAM and storage – up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of inbuilt storage. Vivo X90S’s rear camera setup will consist of a 50-megapixel main camera sensor. It will be accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 12-megapixel portrait sensor with 2x optical zoom. The device will feature a 32-megapixel front camera placed in the hole-punch cutout on the display.
The Vivo X90S will come with a 2,345mAh dual-cell battery that combines to offer a rated capacity of 4,690mAh. Reports suggest that the phone will feature the same 120W fast charging support, like its siblings, Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro.
Operating System and Software
The Vivo X90S is expected to run on Android 13 out-of-the-box and it will also likely feature either Funtouch OS 13 or Origin OS 3 on top of it, depending on the market.
Release Date and Price
While Vivo is yet to announce an official launch date, reports suggest that the Vivo X90S launch could be imminent with the TENAA certification website listing the smartphone. The exact pricing of the phone is still unknown.
If this phone’s specifications are anything to go by, it could be a definitive upgrade from the previous Vivo X90 series models and could give other smartphones in the premium segment a run for their money. The Vivo X90S is likely to target those looking for a device with high-end features, fast charging support, and a large display. We need to wait for the official announcement to know more about the phone’s features and availability in markets outside China.
