Despite earlier reports suggesting that Samsung would not be releasing a Fan Edition device for the Galaxy S23 series, a new report indicates that the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will launch later this year.
Details of the Release
According to the SamMobile report, the smartphone will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2022, and it will be powered by an in-house Exynos 2200 SoC. This is different from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC featured in the other Galaxy S23 models.
In terms of camera capabilities, the device is rumored to feature a 50-megapixel primary lens. The report also indicates that the phone will come with RAM variants of 6GB and 8GB, as well as storage options of 128GB and 256GB. The device is expected to have a 4,500 mAh battery, with support for 25W fast charging, and it follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, the Galaxy S21 FE and the Galaxy S20 FE.
As with any leaked information, all details should be taken with a pinch of salt, but the notion of a new release in this series is certainly exciting for Samsung fans.
Reasons Behind Skipping the S22 FE
The Galaxy S22 FE did not receive a release, as Samsung needed to allocate chips for the production of the Galaxy S22 Ultra model. This was due to the chip shortage that the phone manufacturing industry faced, which was caused by the after-effects of COVID-19. Reports also previously speculated that Samsung wouldn’t release the Galaxy S23 FE model, but this new report refutes those rumors.
Comparing with the Galaxy S21 FE
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is powered by an 5nm Exynos 2100 SoC and backed by a 4,500mAh battery, with support for 25W wired fast charging. Available in Graphite, Lavender, Olive, and White color options, the device comes in two storage variants, with one having 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and the other featuring 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Galaxy S21 FE’s lower variant is priced at Rs. 39,999 in India, while the high-end model is marked at Rs. 43,999.
The Galaxy S23’s Upgrades
The Samsung Galaxy S23 series, which was launched earlier this week, features a few upgrades across all three models. However, the increase in pricing has raised questions among enthusiasts.
