Quantum Break to Remain on Xbox Game Pass for the Time Being

Despite being listed as “leaving soon” on the Game Pass app, Quantum Break from Remedy Entertainment will remain on the service for the time being. After being listed along with several other games as “leaving Game Pass” on April 15, Xbox confirmed that every other game listed earlier this week is leaving the service except for Quantum Break. While it’s unclear whether the game will still be removed later this year or is here to stay, German outlet Xbox Dynasty previously reported that Microsoft stated the removal was due to licensing issues.

Game Pass Additions

In addition to confirming the removal of several games, Xbox also announced a number of new games being added to Game Pass:

Iron Brigade

The third-person shooter/tower defense hybrid from Double Fine Productions tasks you with defending a post-apocalyptic world from invading robots. Players can customize their own walking tank and team up with up to three other players online.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

The upcoming action-adventure game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks is set in a near-future Tokyo in the midst of a supernatural event that leads to 99% of the city’s population disappearing overnight. Players must unravel the mystery and fight supernatural enemies with a variety of abilities.

Minecraft Legends

The free-to-play social deduction game is set in the Minecraft universe, and tasks players with either being a crewmate or an impostor, all while tackling tasks and avoiding being eliminated.

Xbox Game Studio News

Xbox Game Studios also released updates on several of its first-party titles:

Fable Anniversary

The classic action-RPG from Lionhead Studios is being updated for modern systems with remastered graphics and all-new Achievements.

Forza Horizon 5

The latest installment in the racing franchise is set in Mexico and features dynamic seasons, ranging from jungles to deserts to beaches. The game was also shown off in a new gameplay trailer.

Psychonauts 2

The long-awaited follow-up to the cult classic from developer Double Fine Productions is set to release on August 25th, and features more mind-bending action and humor than ever before.

Other Xbox News

Xbox also revealed several other announcements:

Codename: Olympia

A new unannounced first-party title from Xbox Game Studios has been revealed under the codename “Olympia” on its official website, with very few details given aside from the fact that it is an action RPG and is being developed by The Initiative, a developer under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella.

Age of Empires IV

The real-time strategy game from Relic Entertainment is set to release on October 28th, and features eight civilizations to choose from and a new 4K graphics engine.

Xbox Cloud Gaming Expansion

Xbox Cloud Gaming is set to expand to new platforms, including iOS and Windows 10, with the service allowing players to stream over 100 games to their devices via the cloud without needing to download or install anything.

With Quantum Break remaining on Game Pass for now, and several exciting new additions and updates to Xbox Game Studios titles, Xbox fans have plenty to look forward to over the coming months. Xbox Cloud Gaming’s expansion to new platforms will also open up even more ways to play, making gaming even more accessible to everyone.
