Overwatch 2 Season 4: Sends Heroes to a Galaxy Far, Far Away With Epic Space Opera Theme

The highly anticipated Overwatch 2 Season 4 is set to be a spectacular show with an epic space opera titled Starwatch: Galactic Rescue. A new limited-time event beginning May 9 through May 22 will give players the chance to become space heroes or villains in a reworked Horizon Lunar Colony map where they will either side with the Watchers or the Infinite Empire. Space Prince Lucio and Extraterrestrial Winston will join Watchers while Infinite Ace D.Va and Seer Mercy will hail with the Infinite Empire.

Other Exciting Events You Can Look Forward To

Season 4 brings a Thai-themed event to celebrate Lifeweaver’s Thai origins, and the Thai New Year, which commenced on April 11, will run through to April 25. During this event, players will band together and utilize Lifeweaver’s Life Grip ability, in which they can try out the new hero B.O.B, and Weave. In this new limited-time Arcade mode, B.O.B. and Weave, heroes will face off in a 3v3 deathmatch.

Another fantastic addition to Season 4 is the new, limited-time Control map designed by fans named Talantis. This feature will be available to play from April 25 to May 1, where game director Aaron Keller and art director Dion Rogers created the death-pit-filled base. Being top-secret, and 100% non-canon, the underwater layer of Talon comes with features like giant fish and plenty of environmental death traps.

For fans of Battle for Olympus, the game mode is finally making a comeback for a limited-time from May 23 through to May 29.

Changes to Heroes, Balance, and Competitive Experience

There will be some substantial changes to a few heroes such as Sigma, Reinhardt, Cassidy, and Mercy’s previous feedback adjustments in Season 3. Mercy’s alterations will be reverted, and players will have slight adjustment changes to her guardian angel, while Brigitte’s ultimate ability, Rally, will be revamped in season 4.

The upcoming season will also introduce Lifeweaver, the first openly pansexual character in Overwatch. Players will experience a new support hero focused on high mobility similar to Mercy and Kiriko’s. Players will be able to use his ultimate ability, Tree of Life, that offers sustained healing and protection for his team.

As for other gameplay improvements, the competitive mode will improve by removing seasonal decay, displaying players’ skill ratings, and updating their rankings per division. In matches played with players backfilled, they will prioritize matchmaking players’ skills on a more even keel with other players in those matches.

The Conclusion of Overwatch 2 Season 4

Overwatch 2 Season 4 will begin on the 11th of April at 11 AM PT/2 PM ET, where players can experience exciting new features, new heroes, and exciting gameplay.
