Nothing Phone 1, the flagship smartphone from tech company Nothing, is set to receive early access to the Android 14 Beta 1, making it one of the first non-Google phones to have access to the update. The Android 14 Beta 1 is currently only available on Google Pixel phones. Nothing has confirmed that it will work with Google to ensure a smooth experience for its users. The company has not yet released a timeline for the rollout of this update.
Nothing’s Previous Android OS Update
The Nothing Phone 1 model is currently running on a Nothing OS 1.5.3 update that was released in March. Earlier this year, in February, Nothing had released its Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5 update.
Nothing CEO Confirms Early Access to Android 14 Beta 1 on Twitter
Nothing CEO Carl Pei confirmed the news on Twitter, stating that he is excited about what Nothing has coming in 2023. The company has not yet revealed any plans for the features accompanying the Android 14 Beta 1 update.
Google I/O Event and Android 14 Launch
Google has its annual Google I/O event scheduled for May 10 this year, where it is expected to unveil Android 14. The event will be hosted in Mountain View, California.
Nothing Phone 2 Launch Approaching
Nothing is expected to launch its second-ever smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2, soon. Several certification sites have spotted the model, hinting at its imminent launch. Recently, the phone received Bureau of Indian Standards certification, indicating that an India launch is also on the horizon.
About the Nothing Phone 1
The Nothing Phone 1 was launched in July 2022 in India. The smartphone was offered in three variants – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB – priced at Rs. 32,999, Rs. 35,999, and Rs. 38,999, respectively. The Nothing Phone 1 was available in black and white colours.
