New Characters and Powers in Crash Team Rumble Not Linked to Battle Pass

Activision has announced that Crash Team Rumble will have two battle passes each comprising of 100 tiers of unlockable cosmetic items such as skins, emotes, and banners. According to an excerpt from an Activision blog post, the new heroes and their powers can only be earned by completing challenges that ensure every player a balanced gaming experience.

Cosmetics Only:

The two battle passes, Season 1 and Season 2, will only unlock cosmetic items while new characters and abilities can be earned in-game only. Gamers can achieve these items without purchasing passes, but the passes will enable players to earn them faster than through gameplay.
In other words, good players will have the chance to show off their skill with rare cosmetic items they acquired by either buying the passes or by completing challenges.
