Indian smartphone maker Lava is set to launch its new Lava Agni 2 5G on May 16 at 12 pm (IST). The successor to the Lava Agni 5G, the phone has a curved display and will be exclusively available on Amazon. Lava has confirmed that the device will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, come with an octa-core processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will have a 6.5-inch HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with 44W wired charging support and a USB Type-C charging port.

Design and Features

The Lava Agni 2 5G will feature a curved display panel and come with a quad rear camera setup. Live images leaked previously revealed that the camera setup is housed in a large circular camera module towards the top of the back panel. The teaser released by Lava shows a similar design. All four cameras, including an LED flash, are expected to be housed within this module with the primary rear camera using a 50-megapixel sensor. The front camera is expected to have a 16-megapixel sensor.

The phone will reportedly feature a 6.5-inch HD+ (1600 x 900) AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is also expected to come in a shiny blue-green shade, as seen in the official teaser. However, a second colour option may also be offered.

The Lava Agni 2 5G is confirmed to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, which is a rebranded version of the Dimensity 1080 chipset. The chipset is expected to come with an octa-core processor and will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage. The phone is also likely to run Android 13 out-of-the-box.

Previously, Lava launched the Agni 5G in a single 8GB + 128GB storage variant at a price of Rs. 19,999. The phone is currently only available in a Fiery Blue colour option and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC.
