Indian smartphone maker Lava is set to launch its latest offering, the Lava Agni 2 5G, which is confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 5G SoC. Leaked images of the device, posted by tipster Abhishek Yadav, reveal a silver-blue coloured back panel with a large centre-aligned circular camera module. The new device is expected to succeed the Lava Agni 5G smartphone that was released in India in 2021.
Expected Specifications
The Lava Agni 2 5G is said to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor and run on Android 13 out-of-the-box. It is also expected to sport an AMOLED display, an upgrade from the LCD display panel used in its predecessor. The rear camera unit may include a 50-megapixel primary sensor, and the phone will be available in a single variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage.
Earlier Reports
Earlier leaks suggested that the Lava Agni 2 5G will have a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and be priced between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 25,000 in India. However, recent information suggests that this information is outdated, as the launch date was expected to be in March or April.
The same leak also reported that the Lava Agni 2 5G’s triple rear camera would include a 50-megapixel primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) support, with a 16-megapixel sensor on the front. The phone was also said to be backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with 44W wired charging support and a USB Type-C port.
Launch Date and Price
While the launch date is currently not known, the Lava Agni 2 5G is expected to be priced between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 25,000. Lava’s earlier offering, the Lava Agni 5G, was launched in November 2021 and was priced at Rs.19,999. The phone was offered in a single storage configuration of 8GB + 256GB in a Fiery Blue colour.
Conclusion
The Lava Agni 2 5G smartphone, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 5G SoC, is set to launch soon in India. Its expected features include an AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a 50-megapixel primary sensor in the rear camera. The launch date and price are still unknown, but the device is expected to be priced between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 25,000.
