Chinese smartphone maker iQoo has officially announced that it will launch its new Neo 8 series smartphones on May 23. The upcoming lineup will include two models: iQoo Neo 8 and iQoo Neo 8 Pro. The Neo 8 Pro will be the first device in the Neo series to come with the “Pro” moniker.
Design of iQoo Neo 8
A short video posted by the company on Weibo confirms that the iQoo Neo 8 will have a vegan leather back panel in red, and the camera module will be rectangular in shape and have carbon fibre-like patterns on it. There is a triple-camera setup on the back, with two camera sensors in circular cutouts and another tiny cutout next to the LED flash that houses the third camera sensor. The primary camera sensor will support optical image stabilisation (OIS).
Specs for iQoo Neo 8 series
The Neo 8 Pro will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC and a Vivo V1+ image signal processor. While the company has not confirmed camera specifications, the Neo 8 5G will launch with a 12GB+256GB RAM variant. The Pro model is rumoured to feature up to 16GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
Display
Both models are tipped to feature a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The front camera is expected to feature a hole-punch cutout at the top centre.
Camera Features
The iQoo Neo 8 series is rumoured to feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX866V main camera sensor. However, details about the other two camera sensors are under wraps. For selfies, both phones are likely to feature a 16-megapixel front camera sensor.
Processor and Software
The Neo 8 5G is likely to launch with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Both phones are likely to debut in China with Android 13-based Origin OS 3 out-of-the-box.
