Apple fans all around the world are waiting in anticipation for the release of the iPhone 15 series, which is expected to be announced in September. As rumours and leaks continue to circulate on the internet, a recent development has given us a glimpse of what to expect from the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s display.
Leaked Display Specifications
According to a report by 91Mobiles, the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s display is expected to have thinner bezels than its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The front of the phone could also feature more curved bezels, as opposed to the flatter ones on the previous model.
Comparison with Xiaomi 13
In fact, the report suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could even surpass the thin bezel size of Xiaomi 13, which has a bezel size of 1.81mm.
Model | Bezel Size (mm) |
iPhone 14 Pro Max | 2.17 |
Xiaomi 13 | 1.81 |
Display Protector Image Leak
The rumour of the thinner bezels was also supported by popular tipster Ice Universe, who shared an image on Twitter of a purported screen protector for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The image suggests that the upcoming phone could have the thinnest bezels ever seen on an iPhone.
Traditional Volume Control Design
While the thinner bezels are exciting news, another recent report suggests that Apple might be sticking to tradition when it comes to volume control on their new iPhone 15 Pro models.
Retention of Traditional Design
The traditional two-button design for volume control, which features buttons instead of a singular solid-state haptic button, will reportedly be retained in the new devices. According to the report, Apple would need to install three new haptic engines within the iPhone hardware to incorporate the new buttons, which could delay production. Hence, they have decided to stick with the traditional volume button design.
Changes in Port Design
Finally, a recent buzz on the internet has suggested that Apple might be moving away from their traditional Lightning port design in favour of a USB Type-C port. This change is expected to be brought in to comply with a European Union law.
Compliance with European Union Law
It is reported that all upcoming iPhone 15 models, including the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, will feature the USB Type-C port. This change would make it easier to connect with a variety of third-party devices, including laptops and gaming consoles.
While the changes to the volume control and port design are significant, the thinner bezels on the iPhone 15 Pro Max are undoubtedly the most anticipated change. Fans will have to wait until the official announcement to find out more about the upcoming iPhone 15 series.
