Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) 2023 is set to take the fashion world by storm as it goes virtual this year. Over 60 fashion brands, including Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, and Vogue Digital, will showcase their spring collections on the digital runway at the event hosted by Decentraland metaverse. The curatorial theme of MVFW23 is ‘Future Heritage’, and it will take place from March 28 to March 31 across multiple and interconnected metaverse worlds.
Blink Digital, an independent digital agency from India, will be participating in the event alongside Aldo and Coach among other fashion brands. Blink Digital’s Director of Technology, Amer Ahmad expressed his gratitude for being India’s first digital agency to be a part of the biggest fashion event in the metaverse. He stated that they have always believed in staying ahead of the technological curve and have a special place in their hearts for the Web3 community.
In recent days, several luxury fashion brands have taken their steps into the metaverse and NFTs arenas. Gucci has signed a multi-year deal with Yuga Labs to explore how the metaverse can be a destination for fashion and entertainment purposes. Balenciaga and Tag Heuer are experimenting with crypto payments alongside Nike, Hipster’s Paradise, Aeropostale, H&M, Calvin Klein, American Eagle, Philipp Plein, and Etsy.
The first installment of MVFW went live last year. However, this year’s event promises more chaos and madness that usually stirs up backstage during fashion shows as glimpses being shared from MVFW23 show.
NFTs curated by digital designers will also be put up for sale for attendees of MVFW23. It has become evident that virtual events are becoming increasingly popular due to Covid-19 restrictions worldwide. As such events keep evolving digitally into new spheres like NFTs and crypto payments via blockchain technology.
The Indian audience is excited about Blink Digital’s participation in the MVFW23 event. The event’s virtual nature and multi-platform feature will allow people worldwide to participate in the fashion extravaganza from the comfort of their homes. It is yet another example of how technology keeps revolutionizing different industries, and fashion seems to be no exception.
