Google Pixel 7a Scores and Specs Revealed on Geekbench Ahead of Expected I/O 2023 Launch

The upcoming launch of Google’s affordable smartphone, the Pixel 7a, is becoming more exciting as new details emerge. Recent reports reveal that the phone’s scores on benchmarking website Geekbench suggest that it could compete with the premium Pixel 7 in terms of core specifications.

The Google Pixel 7a recently appeared on the Geekbench website with the codename “lynx.” The phone was tested on Geekbench version 6 and managed to achieve a single-core score of 1,380 points and a multi-core score of 3,071 points. The device appeared to be powered by a Tensor G2 SoC, which is also available in the premium Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The benchmark scores suggest that the device’s performance is on par with that of the premium Pixel 7, which has similar core specifications.

Launch Details:

The Pixel 7a is expected to be launched alongside other Google products at the upcoming Google I/O 2023 event, which begins on May 10. Teaser posters for the event are already online, with hints that the Pixel 7a will go on sale from May 11 in India. A previous report also revealed that the phone will be powered by a Tensor G2 SoC and offer features like wireless charging and a 90Hz screen refresh rate.

The Pixel 7a is expected to feature a high-resolution camera with a 64-megapixel primary sensor that will allow for up to 8X hybrid zoom. This would be the first high-resolution camera on a Pixel A series device. The phone is also expected to offer wireless charging, another first for a Pixel A series device. A report also hinted at a $499 price tag (roughly Rs. 40,900).

Camera and Special Features:

The Pixel 7a is expected to offer several special features, such as Photo Unblur, Magic Eraser, and Night Sight, which are related tools for the powerful Tensor G2 SoC. The processor is designed to improve camera performance and enable advanced photo and video capabilities. The phone is expected to offer features like 4K video recording and improved image quality under low-light conditions.

The upcoming launch of the Pixel 7a has generated quite a buzz, and the recent benchmark scores only add to the excitement. While it is not yet clear whether the phone will be able to compete with the premium Pixel 7, it is clear that the Pixel 7a has significant core specifications that make it a strong contender in its price range. With the phone’s expected launch date coming up soon, more details should reveal themselves on the product’s pricing and availability.
