Vivo’s foldable phone, the X Flip, has been the subject of many rumors and leaks over the past few months. Now, a recently leaked photo posted by tipster Digital Chat Station on Chinese microblogging site Weibo has given us a closer look at the upcoming foldable’s design. Here’s what we know so far:
The Design
The device in the photo appears to have a lavender color, similar to Samsung’s Bora Purple on its Galaxy Z Flip 4. The front panel of the clamshell has a matte-finish with an argyle-like embossed design on it. The outer display window takes up slightly over the front-half of the panel, showing the time in bold along with the status icons like data speed, network, and battery status at the top right corner. At the bottom right corner of the display is a shortcut icon that seems to be in place to launch the camera. Below the display is an LED flash unit on the left side and a camera module, which seems to have two lenses placed one below the other, along with the Zeiss logo, which is placed inside the circular camera module.
The Inner Display and Specifications
According to past leaks, the Vivo X Flip will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, a 6.8-inch OLED panel with a full-HD+ resolution, and a 120Hz maximum screen refresh rate. The inner display is said to be 1,080 pixels wide, while the outer panel could be 682 pixels across. The phone’s dual rear camera setup is expected to include a 50-megapixel Sony IMX866 primary camera and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 ultra-wide camera. The device is rumored to be available with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and could come with a 44W charger.
Expected Launch Date
Despite all these leaks and rumors, Vivo has yet to make an official announcement about the X Flip’s launch date. However, the leaked photo does hint at an upcoming launch, so fans of the brand should keep an eye out for any updates.
