CoD: Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 3 Update: Kevin Durant, Warzone Ranked, and More!

Activision has announced that the Season 3 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will be launching on May 10. This mid-season update will bring several new features, such as a new multiplayer map, new weapons, and Warzone 2’s competitive Ranked Play mode. Here is a breakdown of everything that has been announced for this major update.

Call of Duty Season 3 Reloaded start times

The update is set to go live at approximately 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST. Make sure to log in on time so that you don’t miss the new additions!

New weapons and event

One of the main attractions of the Season 3 Reloaded update is the introduction of new weapons. This time around, two new weapons will be added to the game – the fully automatic machine pistol called FTAC Siege and the GS Magna, a fully-auto .50-caliber pistol with the ability to go akimbo. Additionally, the throwing star lethal throwing equipment, which was postponed from Season 2, will finally be available for unlock in Season 3 Reloaded. Players can unlock this equipment through an in-game challenge.

Just like Season 2 Reloaded, this mid-season’s update will include a brand-new camo challenge, where players can unlock two new camos and a special weapon charm that indicates they have completed the event.

More features for battle royale

Season 3 Reloaded will bring a few familiar features from Warzone 1, such as the Deployable Buy Station and Gulag Entry Kit. The Deployable Buy Station lets players purchase new gear more conveniently, without having to hunt down the nearest Buy Station on the map. The Gulag Entry Kit is like the token from Warzone 1, which let’s players get another chance in the Gulag for re-entry into the match after a second elimination.

The update also introduces lootable perk packages which players can find in supply boxes and at Buy Stations. These perk packages will be the same default perk packages currently found in Modern Warfare 2.

Warzone Ranked Play

Warzone 2’s competitive Ranked Play mode will launch in beta for Season 3 Reloaded. It will feature competitive settings, a progressive rank system, a skill system, and seasonal rewards to earn. More details on this competitive mode will be revealed before the big update.

DMZ

The Koschei Complex will be a new location for DMZ, which players will have to discover for themselves in this subterranean bunker complex. The blog post teases multiple entrances to this new area. This dark area will require flashlights and there will be lootable night vision goggles available. Just like battle royale, DMZ is also getting the Deployable Buy Stations to make purchasing items easier during the match.

Modern Warfare 2

Alboran Hatchery is the newly released standard 6v6 map. It is a location set at a series of warehouses near wind turbines. Additionally, Gunfight will get the 3v3 Faceoff variant, played in 3v3, which allows players to use their custom loadouts on the small Gunfight maps. GW Infected is a mode set to release in the second half of the season. It is Call of Duty’s Infected multiplayer mode played on the larger Ground War maps. Players can also expect a brand-new Raid episode!

Kevin Durant and other operator bundles arrive

The NBA’s Kevin Durant will be available as a playable operator for players to purchase. His operator bundle will include two weapon blueprints that reference his iconic nicknames: the Reap This assault rifle blueprint and the Easy Money sniper weapon blueprint. There are also other bundles that let players be a giant rat and adds classic audio from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2.

Overall, Season 3 Reloaded is shaping up to be a massive update with a lot of new features and content that should keep players engaged and entertained. Don’t forget to log in on May 10 to check out everything that this major update has to offer.
