The highly-anticipated Asus ROG Phone 7 series is set to be launched on April 13, and the leaks ahead of the launch event have given a glimpse of what to expect. The series is expected to include three models — the Asus ROG Phone 7, ROG Phone 7D, and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate. The base model and Ultimate edition renders, along with their specs and prices, have been leaked by reliable tipsters.
What to expect from Asus ROG Phone 7?
The base model of the Asus ROG Phone 7 is expected to come with a 6.78-inch full-HD+, HDR10+ AMOLED display that boasts a high refresh rate of 165Hz and a display density of 395 ppi. The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with a whopping 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is expected to house a 50-megapixel IMX766 primary lens, a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens, and an 8-megapixel macro lens. At the front, there will be a 32-megapixel camera, placed in a hole-punch slot at the top of the display. The phone will come packed with a 6,000mAh battery that will support 65W wired fast charging.
What’s different about Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate?
The Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate will come with almost similar specifications to the base model but will offer double the RAM and storage size, with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The phone will come at a higher price of EUR 1449 (roughly Rs. 1,30,500).
Price and availability
The base edition of the Asus ROG Phone 7 will be available at a price point of EUR 1049 (roughly Rs. 94,500). The AeroActive Portal, which is a little flap on the rear panel of the smartphone that allows the attachable fan module to better circulate air over the CPU and the second display incorporated on the back panel will reportedly be available only for the Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate model.
The Asus ROG Phone 7 series is set to compete with some of the biggest players in the high-end phone market, such as the Apple iPhone 13, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Google Pixel 6 and OnePlus 10, among others. Given the high-end specs and features of the Asus ROG Phone 7 series, it will be interesting to see how the phone performs in the market.
